JUBITZ TRAVEL CENTER HOSTS OPEN HOUSE IN NEW TRUCK SHOWROOM

PORTLAND, OR - Jubitz Travel Center is hosting an Open House on Thursday, November 3rd to celebrate the official grand opening of Evolution of a Truck Stop, a dynamic permanent exhibit which highlights the history of Jubitz Corporation and the commercial transportation industry. For the last year, Jubitz has been working with Formations, Inc., a leader in interpretive exhibit planning and thematic interiors, on the development and installation of the display. The exhibit is located in the Jubitz Showroom which opened a year ago. The Showroom is operated in partnership with the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum of Brooks, Oregon, and provides visitors with interesting, historical perspectives and themes showcasing different aspects of the Northwest transportation industry. The Showroom currently features various historical service vehicles including a 1911 White Dump Truck, a 1917 Maxwell Peddler's Truck, and a 1948 Ford Utility Truck. Also featured is a 1942 Chevy Fire Truck used by the Corbett Fire Department for almost 61 years until its retirement in 2002. Jubitz periodically rotates the display of trucks and artifacts from the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum. An exhibit called "Sneak Peeks" gives visitors glimpses into future Showroom exhibits.

"With the support and collaboration of many people and organizations who participated in bringing stories, pictures, and artifacts to the Showroom since its inception a year ago, we have created an exhibit experience that showcases the growth and development of Jubitz, from its humble beginnings 60 years ago to what it has become today," says Fred Jubitz, President and CEO. The Open House is open to the public on Thursday, November 3rd from 4-7pm, and will feature light hors d'oeuvres and Northwest beer and wine.

Founded in 1952 as a truck leasing company, Jubitz Travel Center has been a fixture in the Northwest and national commercial transportation business since locating to its current North Portland location in 1958. It is consistently recognized as one of the top ten truck stops in America. Jubitz features a 100-room hotel, 24-hour full-service Cascade Grill restaurant, the Ponderosa Lounge, 80-seat Portlander cinema movie theater, gas station and convenience store, as well as a barbershop/hair salon, chiropractor and laundromat, and has become a favorite destination for local residents as well as for professional drivers.

Jubitz Corporation is consistently ranked among Oregon Business Magazine's top 150 privately owned companies in Oregon. In addition to the Travel Center, other divisions of the Jubitz Corporation include Jubitz Fleet Services, one of the largest Pacific Pride franchises in the U.S., and the Jubitz AMBEST Service Center providing truck maintenance and repair services.
